Our highly anticipated course, “Transfer of Conceptual Site Model (CSM) to Numeric Groundwater Flow Model,” has been published.

Join this free, beginner-friendly course aimed at popularizing groundwater science and modelling! All modelling files and slides in powerpoint are available for download to the course attendees.

This course consists of two modules and goes beyond learning groundwater modeling software. To be more precise, the second module is dedicated to preparing data externally (in ArcMap). It shows the tools and approaches for preparing your data, thus setting the stage for creating your own models.

The final advice to the course attendees is to start their modeling journey by modifying the existing model (changing hydraulic conductivity values, boundary conditions within different layers, adding recharge to the model, or surface streams). Starting with simple steps will result in greater confidence, building “hydrosense,” and modeling intuition.

The art of modelling is gained mainly through experience; thus, start with small steps and simple models towards more complex ones.
